# Quickstart

> Your first call in under a minute.

Every endpoint page in this doc has an interactive playground pre-filled with a working example: open one and hit Send. It runs against the demo server, no key needed. This page is the same first call, from your own terminal or code.

## 1. Grab a key

The playground needs no key. Your own code does, and it takes two minutes:

1. Create an account at [serialized.xyz/signup](https://serialized.xyz/signup) (email, Google or GitHub).
2. In [Billing](https://serialized.xyz/portal/billing), add a card to unlock **100,000 free credits**. Nothing is charged today.
3. In [API keys](https://serialized.xyz/portal/keys), create a key. It is shown once: store it as a secret.

Paste it in place of `YOUR_API_KEY` below. After the free credits, you pay as you go: \$350 per 1M credits, billed monthly ([pricing](/authentication#pricing)).

## 2. Make your first call

## 3. Read the response

Every response is the same envelope: `{ data, meta }`, camelCase fields, millisecond timestamps, `null` meaning unknown (never a fabricated value). Trimmed here:

The same call works on any [supported chain](/supported-chains): swap `chain=evm:8453` for `solana` and pass a base58 address.
